About

Graham Hastings is a filmmaker, writer, and media creator based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Over his many years creating videos on Youtube under the alias “Stupid Slowking”, he has amassed a variety of skills, a loyal small following, and numerous experiences in creating different types of visual media such as short skits, long narrative works, video podcasts, vlogs, trailers, and more.

He loves creating comedic films and skits, with zany characters, bombastic dialogue, and elaborate world building. One example being “The Stupid Slow Show”, an ironic parody of YouTube personalities starring Hastings as the host and several reoccurring characters such as Timmy Wisu, Jimmy Boffa, and more.

In 2019, he created his first cinematic film, “A Man Prepared” a black-and-white crime noir about a crippling partnership during the growth of their creation – a new experimental drug. He followed it up with “The Life and Love of Robert Coreman”, a dramedy that explores familial dysfunction and what it means to forgive those you love. He rounded out his unofficial trilogy with “Mafia Story”, a dark-comedy that serves as both a crime thriller and an ironic parody of genre conventions.

Studying under Indiana University’s prestigious BFA in Cinematic Arts program, he has continued to create films that challenge himself and expand his visual language. Some of which being “Spike Road”, shot entirely on Super 8 film, “Goblin Mode”, further showcasing his talent for absurdist situational comedy, and “Detective LaBounty”, blending the action, horror, and comedy genres into an explosive short.
